Ficifolia Lodge – Booking Conditions
Terms of Payment
The total $ of the first nights tariff is required to confirm a booking, with the balance due on arrival unless otherwise directed by the customer. If we book the ferry crossing for you, which we are very happy to do, we require a deposit to cover the ferry fare and the first nights tariff.
At present there is only one Airline company travelling to Kangaroo Island, Regional Express Airlines commonly referred to as REX. This company will have similar policies according to weather conditions at the time of your travel.
Arrival and Departure Times
The apartments will be available from 2.00pm upon you arrival and need to be vacated by 10.00am on departure day. Alternative arrangements can be negotiated, and we will do our best to accommodate you needs.
Cancellation and Damage Policy
As a small boutique accommodation business, cancellations will impact on our ability to capatilized on peak time bookings, and also due to booking lead times. Cancellations made 30 days or more prior to the arrival date will incur a $100 cancellation fee. This fee however may be used towards re-booking at a future date.
Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the arrival date will incur the full period charge including any deposits already paid
We recognise that accidents can occur, but any wilful or reckless loss and damage will be debited to the guests account and will be taken via credit card details which have been provided when placing the reservation.
Cancellations made through on-line booking agents
In the event that you have booked your accommdoation through a tourism distributors e.g. internet site, the cancellation policy will be detailed on that site. Please ensure that you have read and understand all conditions attached to the type of booking you have made.
Ficifolia Lodge is a non-smoking indoors area. Guests are welcome to smoke outdoors. If we determine evidence of smoking in the apartments, we reserve the right to apply a minimum cleaning fee of $200 which will be charged to the guests account via the credit card details quoted at the time of booking.
We strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance to cover for unexpected situations requiring cancellation of bookings and in particular it is recommended that you take out travel insurance when booking your ferry crossing with “Kangaroo Island Sealink”. On a small number of occasions, scheduled ferry crossings have had to be cancelled due to inclement weather conditions, mainly during the Winter periods June, July & August.

Kangaroo Island Sealink which is part of the Sealink Travel Group, has provided a very reliable and successful ferry service to and from the Island for over 28 years with their ferries “The Sealion 2000” and “The Spirit of Kangaroo Island”. If a decision is made to cancel a ferry service it will not be taken lightly, and is cancelled only in the best interests of Customer, Staff & Vessel safety. This will only usually occur in the winter months of June, July & August if at all, and only during inclement weather conditions.
We accept VISA & MASTERCARD, no additional fee. CASH or personal Cheques (once arranged) AMERICAN EXPRESS incurs fee of 1.8% due to hefty financial institution costs to this business.
